The University of Regina
Students for Sustainability (URSS), also known as WSC-SD Regina,
is the first and currently, the only Canadian member association
of the World Student Community for Sustainable Development (WSC-SD).
WSC-SD Regina is home to visionary young leaders who aim to be
models of excellence in all they do and who are continually
driven by a desire to set the pace for enduring and positive
change.
Established in 2005, this dynamic organization has been active
on a number of local and international initiatives. WSC-SD
Regina was accepted as a temporary partner of the WSC-SD in 2006
and attended its first Student Summit for Sustainability in
Switzerland that same year. Since then, its members have assumed
important roles on the WSC-SD International Executive Board and
successfully managed vital operations of the global body.
At the 2007 Student Summit for
Sustainability in Tokyo (S3.2007),
WSC-SD Regina was unanimously accepted as a full member of the
WSC-SD and proceeded to secure the hosting rights for
S3.2008
after a well contested bid process.
WSC-SD Regina is proud
to host the 2008 edition of the Student Summit for
Sustainability; the first ever held in Canada! Our Organizing
Committee is focused on producing the best S3 so far
in the history of the WSC-SD and looks forwarding to welcoming
our friends from all over the world to the beautiful City of
Regina.
The
S3.2008
Organizing Committee will strive to offer the following values
to ALL our guests:
