Connect to S3.2008
Once every year, members and partners of the WSC-SD, as well as
students and other invited guests from destinations all over the
world converge in one physical location at the Student Summit
for Sustainability (S3). There they share the
outcomes of their local initiatives and projects, discuss
innovative concepts, form new international partnerships,
participate in strategic planning activities for the year ahead,
make new friends, have lots of fun and learn more about the many
different and exciting cultures represented. In 2008, that venue
will be in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada!
From May 12 to 16 2008, WSC-SD Regina will welcome students from
prestigious universities all over the world to the 2008 Student
Summit for Sustainability (S3.2008)
taking place at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
The Summit titled, “Societies of Tomorrow", will actively engage
students in identifying significant gaps in their societies and
proposing feasible, innovative solutions to the specified
challenges. WSC-SD will subsequently liaise with not-for-profit
organizations, research institutions, government departments,
businesses and industries, and challenge them to consider the
feasibility or otherwise of further developing the best of these
ideas in order to bridge the identified gaps.
Three areas considered essential to the successful establishment
and sustenance of tomorrow’s societies have been chosen as core
focus topics for S3.2008.
These are:
1. Urban
Infrastructure
2. Energy and Environment
3. Economic and Social Development
